Up Next brings you the best new singles every week. This time around, we've got new releases from Avalon Emerson & The Charm, Jorja Smith, DJ Seinfeld and more. Check them out below.
TWOFACED - Yearning
TWOFACED are back with ‘Yearning’, a burst of melodic ecstasy that should turn most frowns upside down. Leaning into a trance-leaning sound, blasts of synth sparkle throughout, with blasts of percussion begging for your feet to move.
Widowspeak - If You Change
A song that fills you with an instant warmth. The indie-pop acoustics of Widowspeak are elevated to a higher plain by the vocals of Molly Hamilton, which are so instantly dreamlike and smooth. ‘If You Change’ will whisk you away, its charm hitting right from the off.
Avalon Emerson & The Charm - Wooden Star
The second album from Avalon Emerson & The Charm is out today and is a fantastic collection of songs from the DJ’s dream pop outlet. ‘Wooden Star’ is a track not to be missed, as it uses earthy samples, luminescent synths and star-like twinkles to create a wonderful world of its own. Emerson’s talent at world-building is on full show, across a song that mixes pop with the spaciousness of ambience.
White Flowers - Heaven
The buildup to the new White Flowers album continues apace, with another deftly mystifying and entrancing single. The duo take on a range of different, expressive styles, with ‘Heaven’ leaning into monochromatic shoegaze. Each pluck of the guitar strings saturates the song in luscious layers of enrapturing sound.
DJ Seinfeld ft TS Graye - U Can’t Come Home
The opening track of DJ Seinfeld’s new album If This Is It sees the Swedish DJ link up with TS Graye. Her vocals provide the anchor for the song, which is surrounded with a sense of loss, where a relationship is damaged beyond repair, and you can only linger in a loveless space.
Jorja Smith - Price Of It All
The new Jorja Smith song features on the soundtrack of TV series ‘Bait’. As you can expect, you’ll hear some jaw-dropping vocals, as Smith is backed up by cinematic orchestrals throughout the ballad.
Chris Stussy & Tom Did It - Wide Awake
Chris Stussy is on a roll and his latest single features Tom Did It. An instantly sunny track, this feels as though it’s destined to dominate Ibiza parties. A track all about the thrill of living in the moment, it's the perfect companion to a bit of hedonism.
Underscores - Bodyfeeling
'Bodyfeeling' is from the new Underscores album. It exemplifies just how talented of a writer April Harper Gray is, as she creates a song that is constantly shifting. Where some hyperpop can get lost in its own chaos, Underscores’ is all about the right amount of heart-pounding energy and club-ready beats to create genuinely memorable songs.
HorsegiirL - An Apple A Day
“Normal” is a word that HorsegiirL doesn’t recognise, and thank god. Never one to create a dull track, ‘An Apple A Day’ is a take on the popular idiom about keeping the doctor away. With some truly bonkers lyrics and an endlessly pounding bass, this horse will not be shut back in the barn.
Deary - Alma
An instantly spectacular listen, 'Alma' by Deary has a sweeping, vast soundscape. A really affecting track, it has this subtle hint of rousing hope to it that gives the impression of better days to come. Sublime in every way, it is a pure joy.
