We are back once again with the January edition of Last Laugh, where we look at all the best comedy events on Skiddle on sale on Skiddle in 2024; check them out below!

It's 2024! Happy New Year everyone! Following the weeks of too much eating and drinking over the break, you may be tempted to hibernate indoors, but, do you know what will warm you up even more? Throughout the first months of the year, we've got a huge variety of comedy shows for you to test your funny bone at. From shows from some of the country's biggest comics like Ivo Graham and Miasie Adam; to some of the best-rising comics in the country in Mike Rice and Tatty Mcleod; to several multi-comedian variety nights where you truly get bang for your buck, and a proper good giggle to go alongside. The CCC with Dan Nightingale 13th Jan '24

When: Saturday 13th January 2024

Where: St Marys Creative Space in Chester

The Comedians Club Chester is one of the best new comedy clubs in the North West. Laughter pours out of the incredible converted church that is St Mary's Creative Space for one Saturday every month and the gigs are hosted by one half of the Have A Word Podcast, Dan Nightingale. With this one being the first of 2024.

This time around, Dan will be joined by the Mancunian rising star Harry Stachini; the one-man-band musical comedy machine, Duncan Oakley; with the effortlessly hilarious Canadian legend that is Glenn Wool headlining. It's going to be a cracker in the New Year in Chester, grab your tickets now!

CLOSEUP COMEDY at Herberts Yard w/ Josh Jones and Russell Hicks.

When: Wednesday 7th February 2024

Where: Herberts Yard in Birmingham 

After one hell of a year with 15 SOLD OUT shows on the spin, CLOSEUP COMEDY is back at Herberts Yard for 2024 on the first Wednesday of every month. Last year they welcomed the likes of Angelos Epithemiou, Scott Bennett, Paul Mccaffrey, Ethan Akbar, Andrew Ryan, Eric Rushton, Josh Pugh and so many more, so you expect more of the same with the best comedians on the circuit right now.

Such Comics for their first edition of the year include Josh Jones, Russell Hicks, Gbemi Oladipo, and resident MC Freddy Quinne. These nights always deliver, and with a lineup like this one, we can think of few better ways to spend a Wednesday night. Grab tickets below!

Scott Bennett: Great Scott!

When: Sunday 25th February 2024

Where: Old Fire Station in Carlisle

Scott Bennett has been blazing a trail through the stand-up circuit for the best part of a decade. He’s written for many high-profile acts such as Chris Ramsey and Jason Manford, and recently recorded his debut on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo. In massive demand as a comedy writer and with regular appearances on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and The Now Show, Scott is an act that simply has to be seen, and this show looks the perfect one for you to do it at.

Popping up at the Old Fire Station in Carlisle, a venue renowned for putting on some of the best in the biz, Scott will be setting the crowd alight with laughter and leaving many a side split, and we can't wait to be there with you.

Good Ship Comedy feat. Maisie Adam

When: Thursday 8th February 2024

Where: Swimmer At The Grafton in London

Few Comics had a year like Maisie did in 2023, from her many TV appearances, numerous bill-topping sets, and an amazing role in the Lionesses World Cup campaign - plus a hit podcast with Suzi Ruffell Big Kick Energy born out of such work - Maisie is on the top of everyone's tounges.

That's why this intimate opportunity to see her in London in February, courtesy of Good Ship Comedy, is not to be taken lightly. Her sets are always rammed with witty observations, high-octane energy and some right good jokes, so just get the tickets, and worry about how you'll be fixing the split sides later.

Ivo Graham: Organised Fun

When it comes to comedy, Ivo Graham uses his overly posh accent to his advantage. Easily able to get you on side, he can quickly go off on mad tangents that will soon leave you in stitches. Trying to enter his most chaotic era to date, prepare for a much riskier show than what he's put on before.

Chris McCausland: Yonks!

When: Monday 30th September

Where: Southport Comedy Festival, Victoria Park, Southport

It feels as though Chris McCausland has been everywhere recently, whether it be Scared of the Dark, Would I Lie to You, Have I Got News for You, The Royal Variety, QI, Blankety Blank, or The Last Leg; and this year he'll be performing plenty of live shows too!

He'll be performing at the Southport Comedy Festival with another masterclass in stand-up comedy that has literally been yonks in the making - The last tour was a sell-out, so get your tickets now!

Tatty Macleod: Fugue

 

When: Tuesday 20th February 2024

Where: The Wardrobe in Leeds

Hot off the back of a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run Tatty Macleod is bringing her certain je ne sais quoi to the stage with her debut hour of comedy: Fugue

Building on her hugely popular English vs French online sketches she asks the important questions like; Is he a f*ckboi or is he just French? Do I have a drinking problem or am I just English? Mike Rice: Nasty Character

When: Tuesday 9th April 2024

Where: Club 45 at Blackfriars in Glasgow

Irish farmer's son, and general Nasty Character Mike Rice is one of Ireland and the UK’s fastest-rising comedy stars. Having started comedy in 2015, Mike has amassed a large online following from podcast and stand-up clips, regularly getting millions of views on various platforms. 

As well as co-hosting Mike & Vittorio’s Guide to Parenting with Vittorio Angelone, and Big Mike and The Chief with Rob Moriarty, Mike has appeared multiple times on smash hit podcast Have a Word, and released his first comedy special in October 2023.

After multiple sold-out Edinburgh runs, Mike brings his brand new show on his first-ever UK and Ireland Tour. An unholy mix of the poetic and the crass, if you like dark, wild and silly comedy this show is for you.

Vittorio Angelone: Who Do You Think You Are? I Am!

Where: The Foundry Sheffield University Students' Union in Sheffield

Following his five-star, sold-out, award-nominated debut show in 2022, Vittorio Angelone is back touring, with his new hour that absolutely killed it at the fringe last year. After solving all the problems in the world with his first hour, his new show looks inward to who he thinks he is, who other comedians think he is, who you think he is and the truth that lies somewhere in between those three.

The other half of the previously mentioned Mike & Vittorio’s Guide to Parenting Podcast, who has also cultivated a huge online following from stand-up clips and podcasts, regularly amassing millions of views on various platforms., this tour will be exceptional. After one hell of another year at Hockley Social Club, CLOSEUP COMEDY is back at Hockley Social Club for 2024 on the last Thursday of every month, with four of the best stand-ups in the country, plus street food and amazing drinks.

Their first edition of the year sees resident MC Freddy Quinne joined by Ted Ilyas, Liam Farrelly, and Julian Deane.
