Only The Poets announce £1 tickets for Brixton Academy in aid of LIVE Trust

“Live music should be accessible to everyone”

Date published: 8th Sep 2025

Only The Poets will be the first band ever to charge just £1 for tickets for a gig at London's O2 Academy Brixton in February.

The band will be perform at the venue to 5,000 fans on 2nd February 2025, after the release of their debut album And I'd Do It Again on 30th January, charging fans the same price they charged for their first-ever gig seven years ago to make the gig as accessible as possible.

Part of a collaboration with LIVE Trust, an initiative representing the UK's live music sector, a further £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to help the UK's grassroots live music scene.

Posting on Instagram, the band said: "When we were younger, gigs were everything: a place to meet people, feel connected, escape the world and look after our heads. Lately, with the cost of living rising, ticket prices have gone wild, making live music inaccessible and pricing out the exact people who need that escapism most.”

It continues: “Some of our first ever shows cost a quid, and seven years on, we want to keep that spirit alive… This show is us paying that appreciation forward - a celebration of live music as a community, not as a luxury.

Tickets go on pre-sale on Thursday (September 11), while the general on-sale begins at 10am on Friday (September 12).

The news comes just after Sam Fender’s latest tour was announced to have raised over £100,000 to help grassroots venues across the UK.
