New rooftop bar and restaurant has opened in Manchester

Offering panoramic views, Southeast Asian BBQ and a fine dining experience in the heart of Manchester, Sister Moon is now open

Date published: 10th Sep 2026

A new Asian-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant has opened in Manchester’s Treehouse Hotel on Blackfriars Street. On the 14th floor, Sister Moon has floor-to-ceiling views that offer panoramic views of the Manchester City Region’s skyline, along with an open kitchen and a fine dining experience.

Opened by Sam Grainger, the restaurant is inspired by his travels throughout Asia in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and more. Sister Moon ‘draws on Southeast Asian flavours, with bold, vibrant dishes’. The menu will focus on Southeast Asian BBQ, inspired by street markets and family home meals.

With home-made pastes and a focus on sharing, the restaurant will be serving BBQ octopus, grilled prawns, lamb jungle curry, marinated pork skewers and more.
