Mount Kimbie have become the latest artists to take on Fabric's long-running Fabric Presents series, delivering a club-focused mix alongside fresh music of their own.
The British electronic duo's contribution reflects the music Kai Campos has been playing in clubs over the past two years, moving away from the more cerebral approach of previous Mount Kimbie mixes in favour of something designed firmly for the dancefloor.
Among the selections are two Mount Kimbie tracks, ‘Monroe’ and ‘Jomox’, alongside an instrumental remix of Nia Archives' ‘No Need 2 Be Sorry, Call Me?’. The mix also closes with Dylan Fogarty's ‘Metallic’ combined with Mount Kimbie's ‘You Took Your Time;.
Speaking about the project, Campos explained that he wanted to capture what he's actually been playing out rather than overthink the concept, while still including a few nods to Mount Kimbie's past.
The release follows a special in-store performance at London's Phonica Records and will be celebrated with a club night at fabric on Saturday 12th September.
Mount Kimbie will DJ and host the night, with Yu Su, DJ Python, Galcher Lustwerk, Tijana T, Leo Gosh and Mor Elian also joining the lineup.
The result offers fans a snapshot of Mount Kimbie's increasingly club-focused direction, combining some of the tracks that have shaped Campos' recent sets with new material from the duo themselves.
