Martha Reeves & The Vandellas to plan cook up a storm in Liverpool this month

Martha Reeves may have exited Celebrity Masterchef early, but the Motown Legend plans to heat things up in Liverpool later this month.

MOTOWN LEGENDS Marthas Reeves and The Vandellas will bring a Heatwave when they return to Liverpool later this month.

Soul sensation Martha may have recently left the Celebrity Masterchef kitchen, but she promises to cook up a storm at her gig in the city's Baltic Triangle on October 24th.

Expect hits such as 'Nowhere to Run' 'Jimmy Mack', 'Dancing in the Street' and 'Heatwave' as Martha and her 7-piece live band show they've still got it as Motown celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Born in 1941 in Alabama, Martha Reeves shot to fame in the 60s when she joined a group known then as The Del-Phis.

She worked several jobs including secretarial work for Motown founder Berry Gordy by day and jazz singer by night, before getting her chance to perform for the famous label.

One day when Mary Wells couldn't make it to a recording session, Martha stepped in with her band and Martha and the Vandellas were born.
