Manchester Caribbean Carnival is returning this weekend for it's 54th year with parade, live music and entertainment.

Manchester Caribbean Carnival is returning this weekend at Alexandra Park for its 54th year and is expected to be attended by 60,000 people.

 
To kickstart the weekend, the festival starts with J’Ouvert morning, starting at 6am for 7am departure from the Moss Side Power House and will finish at Alexandra park at 9am. 

The main parade route will begin at the park from 12pm with sixteen troupes bringing energy, choreography and costumes to present and celebrate Caribbean artistry through the streets of Moss Side. 

The parade will finish at Alexandra Park. There will be multiple stages with sound systems, community stalls, steel pan and live entertainment to celebrate Carnival and Caribbean culture. Food stalls, drinks and community stalls will also be present for people to enjoy.

Manchester’s Caribbean Carnival celebrates and honours the city’s Caribbean community since the 1970s. Since 1971, the festival has been highlighting the traditions of Carnival. 

 This year's lineup includes We R 1, Resonance Steel Orchestra and Pentatonic Steel Band, Yin Yang, Jet Black and more.
