David Bowie: You’re Not Alone opens at Lightroom London in April, and features iconic archival footage of the artist.

Date published: 12th Feb 2026

A new immersive show chronicling the life, creative mind and many faces of David Bowie will open in London this April. David Bowie: You’re Not Alone combines rare performance footage, photography, drawings, lyrics, personal notes and audio recordings, narrated by the artist himself, and will run at Lightroom from 22nd April.

The hourlong 360° film is structured in thematic chapters in a looping presentation, giving an insight into Bowie's perspective on subjects ranging from theatricality, spirituality, songwriting and the transformative power of creativity. The show’s producer, Mark Grimmer, of Journey studio 59, selected a mixture of iconic, rarely seen and never-before-exhibited material, combed from the vaults of the David Bowie Archive in New York.

Grimmer, whose previous credits include the V&A’s David Bowie Is and Lightroom’s David Hockney: Bigger & Closer, said: “It says something about our relationship with artistic heroes that we're drawn to mystery, otherness, the alien... In Bowie's case, this is our construct, not his. Throughout his career, Bowie repeatedly resisted being figured as anything but human. Rather than undermining his mystique, we designed a show to celebrate Bowie as a champion of human creativity - focusing on the message he expressed time and again: that art, in all its forms, is our best hope for understanding what it means to be alive.”

David Bowie: You’re Not Alone open at Lightroom from 22th April. You can currently grab tickets from up to 28th June, with later dates set to be released soon.
