Hillbilly rock comes to Northampton as Hayseed Dixie to play
Playing country versions of your favourite rock songs, the Hayseed Dixies come to the Roadmender in Northampton this May.

Fresh twists on classic songs are one of our most enduring obsessions, whether it's Little Roy's brilliant reggae reimagining of classic Nirvana, or Mike Flowers adding a smarmy lounge vibe to Oasis' 'Wonderwall'. We love a good imaginative cover, and one group who epitomise the artform at it's finest are Hayseed Dixie, who head to Northampton's The Roadmender this May.
Their moniker is a tongue in cheek riff on the Deep South's pronunciation of hard rock goliaths AC/DC, and as self-confessed hillbillies, the band manage to stick to their classic American country routes while recreating versions of some of the most infamous guitar based music in the world.
They call their unique merge of genres 'rockgrass' as it combines the recognisable riffs and beats of widely renowned rock songs using typical bluegrass instruments such as the banjo, mandolin and fiddle.
With a healthy nine albums under their cowhide belts and cowboy hats, the Hayseed Dixie's sound is very much in demand by bluegrass and rock n roll fans alike. They're coming to the Roadmender in Northampton on Saturday 6th May.
