Harry Styles will donate £1 for every ticket sold from his UK tour to the LIVE Trust, Music Venue Trust have announced. The singer is playing eight nights at London’s 90,000 capacity Wembley Stadium as part of his Together, Together worldwide tour, which could see £720,000 donated to grassroots venues across the country if the UK leg of Styles’ tour sells out.
Harry Styles recently announced his fourth album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, which is set for release on 6th March, and followed with the news of his worldwide Together, Together tour last week alongside the LP’s lead single ‘Aperture’. Shania Twain will support the former One Direction member at all eight of his London shows.
The tour includes eight nights at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruiff Arena with support from Robyn, six nights at London’s Wembley Stadium with special guest Shania Twain, and thirty nights at New York City’s Madison Square Garden supported by Jamie xx. Fcukers, Jorja Smith, Foushee, and Skye Newman will be supporting Styles at his Sao Paolo, Mexico City, Melbourne, and Sydney shows, respectively.
MVT wrote on social media, “That £1 might feel small. But when artists at the top level step up, it unlocks serious, long-term support for the base that holds the whole live music ecosystem together. This model works. And it’s growing.” When responding to fan backlash over the cost of stadium show ticket prices, which has become a topic of discussion in the wake of Styles’ recent tour announcement and the struggle for fans to purchase tickets, the organisation said, “We know they're a world away from the grassroots pricing many of us are used to. But what we're focused on is how much these shows will bring back to the grassroots - and it's artists like Harry, and his team - who will be supporting so much great work happening across the next year and beyond. That's what matters to us, and is why we offer a huge thanks.”
