Everything But The Girl has announced a 16-track career-spanning compilation commemorating their storied career. The Best of Everything But The Girl spans the band’s eclectic history, ranging from the jazz-infused sophisti-pop of their early days to the trip-hop laced electronica that shot them to overnight fame in the 90s and beyond.
Comprising Ben Thorn and Tracy Watt, who first met while students at the University of Hull, the pair began releasing music in the early 80s, but it was a Todd Terry rework of their 1994 track ‘Missing’ that propelled the band to stardom and defined their status in the public eye.
The compilation album arrives two years on from their eleventh album Fuse, which itself ended a two decade-long hiatus, and in June the group finally graced the stage after a quarter of a century away with a string of dates at the Moth Club in London.
The retrospective record drops on Friday 14th November, courtesy of Ben Watt’s record label Buzzin’ Fly/Chrysalis.
