The weekend’s just around the corner and everyone’s ready for a drink. Maybe one of your mates suggested the same local pub for the fifth time, but ditch that. Not when Liverpool has some amazing wine bars that are worth checking out. Yeah, everyone’s going to Marseille, but you can travel through Europe with the best wine bars in Liverpool. From tapas bars to dessert wines and port, here’s some of our favourite Liverpool wine bars.

 

Bunch Wine Bar

When: Sunday 10am-9pm, Wednesday 10am-2pm, Thursday and Friday 5pm-10pm and Saturday 10am-11pm 
Where: 50 Berry Street, L1 4JQ

Starting off with Bunch Wine Bar, they’re an independent wine bar specialising in natural wines. Out of all the Liverpool wine bars, they probably have the biggest selection of natural wines. Whether you like red, white, sparkling, rosé, or want to explore their specialised wines, this is the place to go. 

Be introduced to a range of unique wines paired with a changing handwritten food menu of delicious small plates. Inspired by their favourite wine bars in Europe, Brunch Wine Bar has a bright atmosphere with plants and wooden furniture, making it a perfect day-drinking spot

 


 

A Grape Pairing 

When: Sunday 2pm-8pm, Wednesday 2pm-10pm and Thursday to Saturday 12pm-11pm 

Where: 19 Lydia Ann Street, L1 5BW

If you’re in the mood to get wine drunk on some of the best Italian wines, A Grape Pairing is a shout. Their wines are also award-winning, imported from their family’s vineyards across Italy. Not only that, pair your wine with Venetian snacks, sharing boards or small plates like a caprese salad, ragu arancini and their delicious homemade focaccia. 

If you don't know where to start with their wine collections, their staff are praised for knowing their stuff and giving the perfect recommendation. They also regularly host wine tasting and dining evenings.  

 


 

Ropes & Twines

When: Monday to Wednesday 10am-6pm, Thursday 10am-9pm, Friday to Saturday 10pm-11pm, Sunday 10pm-6pm 

Where:  70 Bold Street, L1 4HR

Bright, ambient and cool, Ropes & Twines is up there as one of the best wine bars in Liverpool. Open throughout the day to the evening, they serve delicious wines and cocktails along with coffee. Plus, they’re known for their delicious banana bread, so make sure to grab one. 

With a wide selection of wines, they serve sparkling, orange, red and white. Sip on a wine you’ve never tried before while a pianist plays on a grand piano. And if you’re loving the place, they also have a basement bar where they host events. 

 


 

BoBo

When: Monday to Thursday 3pm-11pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm-12am, Sunday 12pm-12am

Where: 46 Castle Street, L2 7LA

BoBo is a wine and tapas bar that’s hard to miss in the heart of the city centre. Inspired by the wine culture in Portugal and Spain, they serve a range of seasonal wines from around Europe Embracing the tradition, they also serve delicious tapas. Enjoy a boozy brunch with jugs of sangria in flavours like mango, roja and blanca. Spend the evening with your favourite wine while snacking on a charcuterie or cheese board, olives and bread, or Portugal's most famous sweet treat, pastel de nata. 

 


 

Queens Wine Bar

When: Monday to Thursday 4pm-9pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm-9:30pm

Where: 8 Queen Avenue, L2 

Queens Wine Bar is an independent bistro with a strong focus on European vineyards. Their producers are from all over the globe, from Argentina to South Africa. They probably have one of the biggest drink selections in Liverpool, with desert wines, port, sparkling wines, as well as your favourite classic cocktails. They also have a delicious-looking food menu. While sipping on wine (non-alcoholic options also available!), snack on a charcuterie board or wild mushroom arancini, tomato tartare and cured mackerel fillet.

 


 

Le Petit Café Du 

When: Monday to Friday 3pm-1am, Saturday and Sunday 12pm-1am

Where: 60 Berry Street, L1 4JQ

You don’t need to be booking a flight for a Parisian night out! Instead, head to Le Petit Café Du right off the infamous Bold Street. You'll see the French bar overflowing with people, with live jazz playing, so it’s not hard to miss. It has thoughtful selections of wine, with most of them coming from France. Browse through their wine menu where you’ll see white, orange, rosé, and sparkling wines; each has a story written about them. With a stunning interior, large windows and a charcuterie board, this chic wine bar is the perfect date night spot.
