Starting out as a keyboardist in Detroit, funk and soul musician Amp Fiddler has since gone on to smash a solo career with his unique sound, influenced by a broad spectrum of genres.

Fiddler has worked with icons across the music industry, form the likes of funk legend George Clinton to the late and great funk legend Prince and the newly reunited Jamiroquai. This is only a modest list of what he achieved within his career, as he's also the man who taught J Dilla's how to use his first sampler.

Five releases later and Amp is still as fresh as his first 1990 album With Respect. With each endeavour, the multi-instrumentalist manages to succeed the previous with a different vibe and feel to each. His latest 2016 release Motor City Booty is a testament to that, with new elements allowing for danceable tracks and funky atmospheres.

For a special solitary live performance, Fiddler comes to Newcastle's Hoochie Coochie this June, bringing his own brand of blended genres to the event.
