Minima Silent Film & Live Music on Saturday 24th November 2018
The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (PG)
Set in a foggy and unsettled London with a Jack the Ripper-style serial killer on the loose, The Lodger was Alfred Hitchcock's first major commercial and critical success, an electrifying silent masterpiece of atmospheric thriller filmmaking.
Acclaimed soundscapers Minima will join us to perform live their superbly sinister score that captures the film's mood perfectly. A simply extraordinary evening.
Minima are a Bristol-based four-piece, with instrumentation including cello, double bass, baritone guitar, acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, autoharp, dulcimer, synthesizer, glockenspiel and drum kit. Formed in 2006 they have performed at venues and festivals across the UK and abroad, including the Barbican Centre, BFI Southbank, and Glastonbury Festival.
“Minima’s unmistakably spine-tingling music clung to each twist of the movie … spellbinding accompaniment.” The Guardian
