The Comedy Club Wolverhampton on Friday 8th June 2018

Host Comedian – Kevin McCarthy

“The Ad Lib Expert” The Stage, Club Mirror Comedian of the Year Award Winner, Lee Evans Tour Support

Once seen never forgotten, Kevin McCarthy remains one of the biggest and most loved performers by comics and audiences alike, compering and headlining at all the major Comedy Clubs in the UK. With an ever changing act, and the ability to find humour in any subject, Kevin’s warm personality and utterly relaxed stage persona puts the audience instantly at ease. His appetite for topical mirth is second to none and he will have even the hardest of crowds eating out of his hand, as well as watching their back for he’s as sharp as they come. Kevin has also provided support for Lee Evans on his 2014 tour and is also the regular warm up act for ‘later with Jools Holland’.

Opening Comedian – Mickey Sharma

'A very enjoyable, laugh a minute rollercoaster ride' – The List

Mickey Sharma’s mix of comedy and another form of artistry (you will see what I mean) make him as unique as he is funny. His high and contagious energy helps him tame any crowd no matter their age, gender, ethnicity or amount of alcohol consumed. Mickey is extremely comfortable anywhere on the bill; be it MC, opening or closing. A highly regarded act that will have you trying to copy his catchy material (unsuccessfully) for a long time after seeing him. Mickey is an Indian that was born in Pakistan (its true!) in ’82 while his father was working for the Indian Embassy. After living in Pakistan, the family moved to Beijing, then Hong Kong, before finally moving back to India in ’90, where he lived till 9th September ’02, when he moved to Birmingham! Having endured various jobs like a waiter, shelf stacker, camera assistant and Bouncer, Mickey started comedy in July ’09 and now works as a full time comic and travels all over the UK and sometimes abroad (Spain, Romania, India, Czech Republic). Amongst other competitions, he was Winner Bath Comedy Festival New Act Competition 2010.

Closing Comedian – Rich Wilson

'He's a very very funny man' - Frank Skinner

With subject matters ranging from being a young father to observational material on the absurdities of life in general, Rich Wilson has rapidly become one of the most in demand comedians in the country. Plus with an exceptional ability to think on his feet, Rich has proved to be a top compere able to tame even the toughest of crowds with his likable, charming manner. With Rich Wilson you are guaranteed a fantastic evening of top class entertainment.

Rich Wilson has loved comedy ever since his older nextdoor neighbour gave him a cassette of Eddie Murphy-Delirious. 'It was the most mind blowing thing I'd ever heard. My young ears had never heard language like it.' His comedy aspirations lay dormant until he got a job as a barman at a comedy club in Greenwich, South London, called Up The Creek. After getting friendly with a few of the comics, a couple of them suggested that he should give comedy a go himself and so in October of 2004, Rich took his first steps onto the stage and into the limelight. Since then Rich hasn't looked back. He is a regular at all the major comedy clubs up and down the country and has become a firm favourite entertaining troops across the world as part of the armed forces entertainment service. In 2011/2012 Rich was selected to support Tom Stade on a Nationwide Tour.
