Review of U.k. Tour 2016 Rubettes Featuring Alan Williams, John Richardson & Mick Clarke

Overall rating: 5

Well the first half over now at Weymouth Pavillion in Dorset. The band have been excellent, going through lots of their back catalogue of lesser known tracks, and also several well known numbers which although had been written or covered by the boys, were taken to number one by other groups of the time. "Bye bye Baby", just one example which was covered by the Rubettes, and not really getting anywhere, but getting to number one with the Bay city rollers. With lots of interesting anecdotes on their career, and finishing with a whole band drumming number, which displayed the bands synchronised talent and music ability to its absolute best. The drumming was superb. I'm now looking forward to the second half to begin in about 10 minutes from now. If the final half is half as good as the first then I'm in for a treat... The second half begins with the song "Tonight!" With lots of crowd participation the songs flow. "Juke box drive", "I can do it", and of course Sugar baby love.. The show winds up with an encore to the sounds of "sweet soul music", excellent show which I highly recommend to all Rubettes fans. I met all the guys afterwards and found them to be very down to earth, and generally nice guys. I left the theatre buzzing with a poster signed by all of the band.
