Working Men's Club + support on Friday 11th October 2019
We are delighted to have Working Men’s Club at LiveBar on Friday 11th October as part of their UK tour.
Working Men’s Club are one of 2019’s most hotly tipped bands, with their debut single ‘Bad Blood’ - released via Melodic - taking the music world by storm with its angular opening riff echoing acts such as Gang Of Four and Television. Their follow-up single ‘Teeth’ recently premiered on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show - a menacing, swaggering track that proves that this band are undeniably impressive. Now signed to the mighty Heavenly Recordings, we can only imagine what the quartet have hidden up their sleeves for the rest of the year and beyond.
“We grew up in Northern towns trying to get in to pubs in social clubs because that’s all we had. The name is an ode to that,” explains Working Men’s Club’s singer and guitarist, Sydney Minsky-Sargeant.
With shows supporting The Wedding Present and Brian Jonestown Massacre already behind them, the band look sure to make great strides in the coming months. “Our surroundings and their differences has influenced us a lot on these tracks,” says Minsky-Sargeant. “[They] are based on the culture of walking round Manchester every day then going back to the countryside each night and how the contrast of going back into the hills made us sane.”
Support to be announced.
Advance tickets £5.
Music Genres: Indie, Punk
