Review of Just the Tonic Comedy Club: Working From Home - New Year Special
It was a great idea to put together a virtual comedy show but in parts it felt a bit awkward and I feel the jokes weren’t as funny as they would have been in person. Some parts just seemed like friends chatting instead of it being a comedy show. However, great value for money for the length of show and the time/effort put into it.

Too much unfunny dialog between the hosts and the guests. The dialog with Ramesh was not funny
The guy with the card tricks was entertaining.
The best of the bunch was the pub landlord.
I expected stand up comedy a la the Apolo but was disappointed.

This event was hit with loads of technical problems. It was difficult to login as the promised links weren't forwarded to everyone. A friend was able to email me and I got in but was kicked out loads of times and the pictures throughout kept freezing. It was also way too long. Needed to be snappier as other comedy zoom nights are. Couple of good names - Romesh was great as always but the rest not so much.

Sadly this experience, my first with Just the Tonic, was awful. Didn’t get the email with link to show. Couldn’t find joining instructions on the website. A friend forwarded her email with the link to me so we got in. But poor quality and I kept getting logged out - so missed a lot and in the end got fed up! Thought host was poor. Not a lot of money so not complaining about value for money .. would have been great if the admin/technology was better. The acts I saw were ok - but spoilt by having to keep retrying with the link. I would not recommend to others and was embarrassed that I told my friends to buy tickets and it didn’t work for them either.

It wasn't what I expected of a comedy show despite it being online. The presenter didn't look like he wanted to be there and therefore it was difficult to enjoy the show. There were lots of technical difficulties which was expected. May have been better to record the show in future to prevent this. There were a lot of awkward silences in the conversational elements of the show. It was a good effort but I wouldn't recommend the show to friends.

Really appreciated this gig - much better than TV.
Tunes were good too.
Would happily do more streaming gigs whilst the current COVID restrictions in place and happy to pay a bit more for the tickets.
