Film: Loving Vincent (2017) cert. 12 Animation, Biography, Crime on Saturday 23rd February 2019

Friday afternoon’s FREE show of local artists’ representations of van Gogh’s work is complimented with a documentary film about the making of the movie. Then on Saturday evening we screen Loving Vincent: a biographical drama film about the life of painter Vincent van Gogh. It is the world's first fully oil painted animated film and brings his artwork to life in an exploration of the death of one of history's most celebrated artists. A true labour of love, written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, each of the film's 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as Van Gogh, created by a team of 115 painters.

Come to Sunnyside Community Hall TN4 8RA from 12pm Friday for the FREE art show and six documentary films about the making of Loving Vincent. Then from 7pm on Saturday to see the main film. £5 gets you in. Licensed bar, induction loop, free transport*, discussion group.
