Algorhythm is a club concept born in the SW creating emotive, deep and progressive house / techno nights. Formed in the summer of 2017, it has gone from strength to strength - with sell out events, its first major headliner - Gallago (Anjunadeep) - and a stage at this year's spring Masked Ball.
On 01 June Algorhythm returns to St Ives, and this time it's raising the bar further still with international DJ and producer Joseph Ashworth (Life and Death / Anjunadeep) taking a trip down to Cornwall between tours of North America and India to headline on the night.
In what has become one of our trademarks there will be a high quality 15K imported sound system, along with a powerful light-show - provided by Audio Source.
Running the bar on the night will be St Ives Brewery - these guys have been producing the finest craft beers in Cornwall for 8 years, and working alongside the best promotors in the South West most weekends. A range of craft beers, ciders and artisan spirits will be on offer from open till close.
For the last few years Joseph Ashworth has been crafting a unique sound, deep within the realms of house and techno. A sound that captures the gritty honesty of techno, but with an experimental and melodic edge. Joseph approaches each piece of new music without pretence or discrimination, focusing on the emotion the music conveys as opposed to slotting within predetermined genre boundaries.
His highly acclaimed releases on Life & Death, Anjunadeep, Get Weird, Pets, ELEMENTS and Needwant have helped him grow a reputable fanbase on both side of the Atlantic, receiving support from all corners of the electronic music scene including Lee Burridge, Jonas Rathsman, Above and Beyond, DJ Tennis, Sasha, John Digweed, James Grant, Jody Wisternoff, Patrice Baumel, Kolsch and many more. This admiration from his peers has often resulted in collaboration, and studio hours have been spent with the likes of Catz ‘N Dogz, Jonas Rathsman and Shadow Child.
As a performer Joseph is a unique, exciting and versatile DJ, and this has seen him play extended sets at the likes of CRSSD Festival, Printworks and Fabric, as well as tours of the far East and North America.
We are incredibly excited to have Joseph down to play at Algorhythm for what will be his first ever show in Cornwall.
Crawford is the moniker of Bristol based DJ / producer, Charlie Boon. At the young age of 22, Crawford's infectious productions and clinical DJ sets have seen him become one of the rising stars of the scene. His track 'Africa', released last year on Eton Messy Records, was supported by the likes of Patrick Topping, Klose One and Elliot Adamson. Crawford has just released his debut 12'' on Loft Records which has been getting huge support from a range of big dons including Denis Sulta, it also includes a breathtaking remix from Kiwi and an absolute hammer from Irish duo Brame & Hamo. Crawford made his Glastonbury debut in 2017, and had another busy summer in 2018 which included Nass, Leopallooza and The Masked Ball. Having more recently moved to Bristol, he has found himself getting an increasingly busy schedule playing at some of the UK’s biggest clubs.
Tom started the Algorhythm project in the summer of 2017 with a vision for 'a club night in the SW that focused purely on people experiencing deep underground electronic music through a high quality sound system’.
Fast-forward almost 2 years, the night now has a strong reputation for its unique vibe, underground music, and packed dance-floor.
Tom's DJ sets incorporate a blend of deep melodic house, techno and progressive, and have seen him earn regular appearances at The Masked Ball and frENDzy in recent years. His high energy sets are woven with melody and groove and he'll be warming up the dance floor from 20:00 - 21:30 on 01 June.
