Schtumm....Presents Pi Jacobs + Gasoline & Matches on Friday 26th October 2018

Schtumm welcomes new, original music. Schtumm actively promotes upcoming musicians and seasoned performers. Held on the final Friday of every month.

Pi Jacobs
Los Angeles singer-songwriter Pi Jacobs plays what she calls an “Americana bluesy rock thing,” one nonetheless edged by accents evoking her urban San Francisco childhood. Enamored of her mother’s folk- and soul-heavy music collection, she sang throughout school, picking up guitar, bass and songwriting as a teenager. She earned her GED and left high school early, then pursued music studies at the local junior college. A period of woodshedding, gigging and recording ensued, culminating in the release of Pi’s debut album. She spent two years in New York before landing in L.A., which has proven fertile creative ground and a convenient base for touring.

“The marriage of Ramsey’s deep bluegrass roots and Pi’s “Americana bluesy rock thing,” is nothing short of powerful.” -Americana Music Magazine: March 2017

“eleven heart felt songs of the highest caliber taking the listener on a musical odyssey of a mainly Americana music style. Produced at the prestigious Mountain Fever Studios in Virginia, this is a highly infectious release.” - Blues Matters: September 2017

Gasoline & Matches

“Promising big things for 2018” – BBC Introducing

“Sassy, funky, Little Big Town infused country right from the heartland of the UK” – Lyric Magazine

Starting the year with their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ reaching Number 1 in UK ITunes Country Chart, a headlining performance at The Hard Rock Café London and a five date Californian tour in the bag, Gasoline & Matches are already proving why they’ve been named as Lyrics Magazine’s ‘Artists to Watch’ in 2018.
With their impressive blend of Fleetwood Mac-esque harmonies, Brad Paisley-infused guitar solos and energetic live performances, they have received a nomination for Duo of the Year at the 2018 British CMA Awards alongside The Shires and Ward Thomas and were shortlisted for Best Country/Folk Act in Birmingham Music Awards 2018.
The duo initially met back in 2011 when their paths crossed in a guitar shop in Birmingham. Shortly after meeting, Sally was due to move to America, so they decided to write, record and perform just a handful of shows together before she left. Upon Sally’s return, it was a matter of weeks before the duo reconnected and formed Gasoline & Matches. Enlisting the help of experienced producer Gavin Monaghan and the more recent addition of bass, keys, banjo and drums to their studio & live performances, it has allowed the duo’s sound to develop and bring the songs alive.
They have already grabbed the attention of critically acclaimed Nashville song writing legend Phil Vassar, who invited the duo to share the stage with him on his April tour. They also performed on the mainstage ahead of The Vamps, Jessie J & Kaiser Chiefs at PetLife 2018. With their undeniable chemistry on stage and their single recently airing on BBC Radio, this explosive duo are setting UK Country alight!
