Review of The Legends Festival - Lydiard Park, Swindon

we spent 2 days at the legend festival. our favourite artist was the Tina Turner tribute act. absolutely brilliant. all the groups were really good. the venue and organisation was perfect. all the staff were friendly. can't wait till Starlight arrange another event
all four of us came away saying it could not have gone
better. Well done all concerned and Skiddle for organising the tickets etc. thank you xx

Organisation was a shambles. Parking was terrible and they clearly hadn’t planned for the amount of people arriving.

Only went on the Saturday afternoon, but had a great time.

Riviera Arcade at The Brit Pop Boys were fantastic. Some other great bands too, but can't remember their names!

Amstell lager was £5 a pint, so reasonable for an outdoor venue.

Not sure why we had to 'buy' our free tickets on Skiddle, but never mind.

Only popped in towards end on last day wish had gone sooner looked like a good day. Fair was expensive £4.50 for dodgems but nice equipment & guess they have to make up for losses re covid

We had a great time!
Prices were good, food options were good, entertainment was entertaining & Lydiard park is a great venue!
Perfect for a free event- giving people the choice of being in the event, but if you couldn’t afford food or drinks, you can set up outside the event and bring your own

Very few stalls and food outlets; whole event geared for young children. Not much to see or do. Wouldn't recommend for adults unless taking young children.

A decent fair ground area, but expensive. Food and drink available. Lacking any arts and crafts stalls. OK but not special. I wasnt there for the evening music so cant comment of that.

A good event with the exception of the music, we sat in front of the stage for 45 minutes, no music act came on, so we went to the fun fair for an hour, came back to the stage, still no music on so we waited for an hour and then decided to go home.

Not enough independent stalls. Just food stalls. Way too many.
Poor weather didn't help with atmosphere and attendance.

Sorry complete disappointment. Doors opened at 12 noon - got there just after 12 - quiet as a graveyard. After a while band started and they were good. Not enough stalls. Decided to eat at a chinese stand, only to discover they hadn't started cooking, so we left and went and had a pub lunch. We used to have the Mela at the Town Gardens in Swindon every year - whoever organised that should have organised this as it made the Lydiard one look pathetic. Sorry to be negative, but it's how both of us felt.

The music let the day down. When we arrived we positioned ourselves in front of the stage to listen to the music. There was a female singer at the time. She was on for around twenty minutes before she finished. We then sat there waiting for a new act, we had a wonder round twice and ate our picnic expecting the entertainment at anytime. After 3 1/2 hours it was obvious that we’d be waiting a lot longer and so we left.
There was only about 15 minutes of piped music during the 3 1/2 hours which we thought was extremely poor as well. If there are no entertainers, the very least you should provide is piped music.

We went the first day, Friday. There was alot of food stalls with huge ques, an empty stage set up, a flower hat stall and glitter tattoo stall. No crafts as advertised. No dinosaurs, no music till much much later. Could've done with more stalls selling bits and bobs. Got round it in 5 mins and then left for the nearby park and fairground.

The best music act was the drag act every other act wasn’t too good. The prices were ridiculous for food and drinks, it was too much money. Overall it was a good day just think prices and music acts need to be reconsidered
