Come join us at Urban HQ for two inspiring talks and connect with our incredible creative community in Swansea with a few drinks and a slice of pizza.
In this talk, Dale Sinoia explores how independent artists and storytellers can create professional-level work using free and affordable tools. From sketching concepts in Procreate and Krita, sculpting characters in Nomad Sculpt, editing sound with Audacity, to color grading and cutting with DaVinci Resolve, Dale demonstrates how each tool fits into a streamlined workflow that leads into Blender for full 3D production.
Using the indie animated series War Dogs: Ashes of Prophecy as a case study, this session shows how powerful storytelling, combined with accessible technology, can rival big-budget productions making world building possible for anyone with vision and creativity.
In a world of hyper-realistic visuals and AI imagery, authenticity has become a creative skill. In this talk, Ioan explores how VFX artists create believable work and how the same principles can help designers, filmmakers and motion artists create work people trust, at a time when faster and cheaper is often mistaken for better.
The event will be held at Urban HQ on 37 Orchard Street, Swansea, SA1 5AJ. It's next to the UWTSD ALEX Building and opposite the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery.
