In the busyness of our daily lives we can neglect and lose ourselves. This retreat is an opportunity to come home; a nurturing weekend of meditation and mindfulness in a beautiful woodland setting. Learn how we use the simple tools of body and breath awareness, to create our own safe, nourishing space.

Who’s the retreat for?
The retreat is suitable for people who have completed an 8-week course in mindfulness or who have an established meditation practice.

Who are the facilitators?
Vicki Worsley is an experienced meditator, counsellor, teacher and trainer. She trained in mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zinn (USA), Thich Nhat Hanh (France) and at Bangor University. Vicki has attended Mindful Self-Compassion training with Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff. She has an MA in Buddhist Studies from Bristol University.

Keith Hackwood (MA Oxon, MA Cardiff) is an experienced meditator, psychotherapist (MBACP) and mindfulness trainer. Keith has trained in the Tibetan meditation tradition and has had a meditation and mindfulness practice since 1998. Developing compassion is central to his work as therapist and mindfulness trainer.

The venue
Felinganol is a forest eco-retreat and studio space surrounded by trees and a stream. It is near Mwnt beach and Cardigan town, West Wales. Close to the Pembrokeshire coastal path it’s located amongst beaches, valleys and forestlands. The circular meditation studio has been hand-built using straw-bale and lime by using local natural materials. Accommodation is in the farmhouse and in the newly built wooden cabins with access to eco-friendly showers and toilet facilities. There is space for up to 12 people:

  • Three single cabins
    • One shared cabin (with 3 beds)
    • One shared bedroom in the farmhouse (with 4 beds)
    • A luxury double cabin (a double bed and sink)
    The retreat fee includes teachings, food and shared accommodation. There’s a supplement of £70 for a single cabin. For 2 people staying in the double cabin, each would pay the single supplement. (If you’d like the double cabin, on your own, the supplement is £140.) There is a discount of 20% for Mindful Space Members.

    Meals are all included. The food is vegetarian. Felinganol says, ‘We cater from both our own organic gardens (making our own jams and chutneys etc) and from the wonderful local organic smallholding catering company ‘Our Two Acres’. We aim to source from local organic producers whenever possible e.g. our sourdough, rye breads, cheeses and honey all come from local makers.’ Get in touch regarding any food allergies or diets.

    There will be opportunities to talk at the beginning and end of each day. Most of the weekend will be in silence.
