About

Riding the Low is the name of an indie rock band fronted by actor and director Paddy Considine, formed in 2006 after he was inspired by Guided by Voices.  The band's name comes from a quote in a Lee Marvin biography, referring to a psychiatrist's advice for Marvin to engage in fulfilling activities after completing a movie to 'settle him back into normal life.

Their music is described as a blend of punchy pop anthems and psychedelic rock, exploring themes of disillusionment and working-class life.  Riding the Low has released several albums and EPs, including 'The Death Of Gobshite Rambo' in 2022.

The Maddocks, comprising of old school friends George Edwards (vocals & guitars), Siobhán Lally (bass), Ed Gibbins (drums) and Alex Tollerfield (guitars), haven't stopped turning heads with their high-energy, post-punk infused sound, since their formation in Stockportin 2022.

With two EPs and several packed-out headline shows at venues such as Deaf Institute and Academy 3 already under their belts, The Maddocks have firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting rising bands around.
