In 1963, Frances 'Baby' Houseman, a sweet daddy's girl, goes with her family to a resort in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains. Baby has grown up in privileged surroundings and all expect her to go on to college, join the Peace Corps and save the world before marrying a doctor, just like her father. Unexpectedly, Baby becomes infatuated with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny Castle, a man whose background is vastly different from her own. Baby lies to her father to get money to pay for an illegal abortion for Johnny's dance partner. She then fills in as Johnny's dance partner and it is as he is teaching her the dance routine that they fall in love. It all comes apart when Johnny's friend falls seriously ill after her abortion and Baby gets her father, who saves the girl's life. He then learns what Baby has been up to, who with and worse, that he funded the illegal abortion. He bans his daughter from any further association with 'those people'.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Getting Here

We are based 5 minutes away from Southend Airport.

We are located on Purdeys Ind Est (just behind Roller City).

Once you enter the estate, take the 2nd road on the right (Rochehall Way) and then the first road on your left (Millhead Way), drive all the way to the end of that road and we are based on the SACP Airport Parking site, just drive through the gates and one of our member of staffs will check you in.

All vehicles will be parked complying with government social distance guidelines.

The gates will open 1 hour before the film start time.

Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the film starts. All parking is on hardstanding.

Vans and High cars are allowed but may be placed at the sides or back so as to not block other customers view of the screen.

Ticket Scanning

When you arrive at Southend Outdoor Cinema Drive In, please have your E-TICKET ready for scanning you can download the Skiddle app to your phone or device, or print your ticket with the barcode or QR code clearly displayed. This will speed up the process of entering the event.

Tuning In

On arrival you will be checked in and handed one of our Sanitised Bluetooth Speakers, no need to plug it in, just place it anywhere in your car.

Viewing the Screen

We stagger vehicles so everyone has a clear view of the big screen (passengers in the back of the vehicle may have restricted viewing due to front passenger seats, we suggest a max of 4 people to get the best experience)

Food & Drink

Food & Soft Drinks are available on site, when you arrive you will be given a menu, just text through your food and drink order and one of our waitresses will bring your order out straight to your car, it couldn't be easier. Card & Cash payments accepted. Strictly no alcohol permitted on site. Please be respectful of your surroundings and take your rubbish home with you. There will be a small number of bins on site.

Social Distancing/Toilets

All guests must remain in their vehicles at all times unless you need a toilet break. On site toilets are available including accessible toilets and we will make sure they are cleaned regularly and hand wash is always available.

First Aid

Fully trained First Aiders will be present throughout the screening, should you require assistance please alert a member of our team who will be patrolling the site

Leaving the site

When the show is finished, please follow the instructions from the security team. Please do this in an orderly manner as we need to get ready for the next showing.
