Solihull Choral Society presents.. on Saturday 28th March 2020
Solihull Choral Society presents one of the greatest choral works of the 19th Century, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonnelle. Although Rossini is better known for his stage works than for his church music, the relentless force and energy pitted alongside scenes of great sorrow and despair, with plenty of drama along the way, demonstrate that this piece is simply an opera disguised in liturgical clothing. We are thrilled to welcome renowned concert pianist Roger Owens to play for us for the first time alongside organist Peter Irving. Roger will begin each half with a piece of Romantic piano repertoire, setting the scene for the action which follows. We also welcome four outstanding soloists from London for their first concert with Solihull Choral Society: Anastasia Bevan, Emma Lewis, Ben Vonberg - Clark and Malachy Frame.
Ticket price includes a programme. Interval refreshments provided.
Music Genres: Choral, Classical
