Music for Peace on Saturday 20th October 2018
In this concert, which is part of the Wooburn Festival, we have a programme of music and poetry to mark 100 years since the end of the first world war.
Walford Davies' Short Requiem, first published in 1915, was composed 'In Sacred Memory of all those who have fallen in the war'.
Karl Jenkins: The Armed Man - a Mass for Peace, was first performed in 2000 and dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo crisis. The work ends with a call to Peace.
The music will be interspersed with WWI poetry by Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon, Thomas Hardy & others
