Review of The Standard Lamps live at The Wightman
First saw the Standard Lamps in Liverpool supporting the Who. Thought they were good then but last night they were brilliant! When are they touring again and please get a date in North Wales.....

Review of Chris Forsyth and the Solar Motel Band
Chris Forsyth was spell binding! The interplay between the 3 members of the band was phenomenal. You found yourself lost in the sound, as the songs grabbed you by their insistence and intensity. The sheer length of the songs allowed the intensity to build but also let for changes of tempo and mood. Chris Forsyth is a virtuoso on the guitar and certainly one of the best musicians I've ever seen. Having a chat with him afterwards confirmed that he's a lovely, humble guy too.
It was an incredible gig and the only pity was that there weren't more people there to see it. it was a privilege to be there.

Review of Desert Mountain Tribe
A perfect night with the wonderful D*T. The concert was very well organised by the promoters (big shout out to Andy from Left For Dead - Top Bloke!) This venue is a concert goers dream. Small and intimate with a great PA and brill facilities. Desert Mountain Tribe should be a massive band and their time will come.....please go and see them.

Review of Desert Mountain Tribe tickets
Shrewsbury is way off the beaten track when it comes to good live music, its a very comfortable place and generally the music and the venues here are a little on the comfortable side, especially now the Music Hall has been turned into a museum. So It's fantastic to have such a great venue in the heart of town and it was great to see it so well supported last night. In a way the music was a little secondary, both bands did a great job, played some great music and definitely appealed to the crowd, but lacked a little in innovation or excitement that would have made this a really fantastic gig. As much as a think the venue is great, the space really needs some real energy or tension to fill it fully and get the crowd whipped up and I just thought that was missing last night, maybe a year of seeing the likes of Fat White Family and Ryley Walker has made me very demanding! But in reality it was a really good evening and I can't wait for the next gig here. Great value too, even the bar at £3 a beer was the cheapest in town, which is incredible, (better bring more beer next time though!). Well done everyone involved.
