In 1982 Ridley Scott brought to the screen, one of Cinema's greatest Sci-Fi Films. Blade Runner is based on the Philip K Dick novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep first published in 1968.
The film will be screened in The Dye House at Ditherington Flax Mill in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The Flax Mill is World's first iron framed building, and is the forerunner to what would become the Skyscraper! Films In A Flash pride themselves on giving their audience the opportunity to wacth cinema in unforgettable locations, and this is absaolutely one of those!
Films In A Flash want to give you a little slice of Los Angeles 2019! As well as getting to see the definitive version of the film, The Final Cut, Films In A Flash will give you the opportunity to be a small part of the dystopian World, and maybe meet a replicant or two!
We urge you to arrive before the film start time to get the full experience! As this is Atmospheric Films from Films In A Flash, please do not just expect a film on a screen, we will be doing our best to make sure you have an experience!
Timings - You will be able to enter the site from 6:00PM. The last time to enter the site will be 7:45PM and the film will start at 8PM.
Venue - The Dye House is part of the Ditherington Flax Mill, one of the most important set of structures in the World, as it is recognised as the World's first iron framed building. The buildings have undergone a massive amount of renovation in recent years, but there are still areas that are undergoing work, so we ask you to only access areas that are clearly marked for our event.
We will be inside to watch the film, but the venue is not designed, and heated like a modern building. Please dress warmly for watching the film.
Seating - There will be 50 seats already set up at the venue. If you want to bring your own chair as before at Films In A Flash events, your ticket price will be cheaper (please check tickets available). We suggest a camp chair as the best type to bring.
Tickets - Please ensure you bring confirmation of your ticket purchase. Either as a printed ticket or your confirmation email.
Food and Drink - There will be catering at the site, but you are welcome to bring your own. You can bring alcohol, but we ask you to please responsible. Please dispose of any rubbish in the bins provided and check to see if you can recycle in the appropriate bins!
Parking - There is plenty of space for car parking at the front of Ditherington Flax Mill off Ditherington Road. All cars parked, are parked at the owners risk. We are surrounded by residential housing, so please be respectful when you leave the site after the film.
Age Classification - The film is BBFC 15 , so please do not buy tickets for anyone under the age of 15. And if you are lucky enough to look younger, please bring I.D. Anyone thought to be under the age of 15 and cannot provide I.D will not be allowed to enter.
Stewards - There will be stewards at the event who are there to help you enjoy your experience. They are volunteers and are giving up their time to make sure you have the best time you can. Please treat them with the respect that you would expect to receive if you were in their place.
Photography - We want you you take as many pictures of the event as possible, and please share them with us on our Films In A Flash Social Media Pages. As with any film screening, it is against the law to record/film the film. Anyone seen doing this will be asked to leave.
