Square Hole Comedy on Sunday 12th November 2017

We are joined by friends this November! McCabe and McCabe (no relation) grace the little stage above the Red Deer, with a healthy wedge of Brierley (of The Not So Late Show with Ross & Josh fame). A chunky slab of Brierley sandwiched on wholesome multi-McCabe bread. Marketing acumen like this means tickets may be in short supply, so advance booking is recommended.

Milo McCabe

Milo McCabe is a character comedian with over ten years experience on the circuit. He has twice been nominated for the Amused Moose Best Edinburgh show award and was listed as GQ’s Top Ten comedy shows of the festival. TV credits include ITV’S Benidorm, BBC3’s Live at the Electric and various hidden camera and talking heads projects on Channel 4 and 5. As himself, he is shortly to appear in US documentary ‘Everyone has an Andy Dick story’. Troy Hawke is an erudite homeschooled 1930’s throwback… the Errol Flynn of the high street. Educated, sophisticated, but utterly clueless. He tackles modern issues head on in his uniquely untimely manner.

“undeniably funny” — Chortle ★★★★ “mad comic genius” — The Scotsman
“chaotic, mad and very very funny” — The Upcoming ★★★★
“very funny and very satisfying” — ScotsGay ★★★★★
“a must see for any comedy enthusiast” — Edinburgh Festivals Magazine ★★★★

“Milo McCabe’s matinee idle luvvie Troy Hawke is near on perfection and has created a show so pure with comedy and originality that there were more than a few moments where the audience almost had to ask for a pause” — The New Current ★★★★★
“outstanding character comedian…massive amounts of fun” — The Skinny ★★★★

Kate McCabe

An American up north, Kate spent time living and performing improv and stand-up all over the States before settling in Manchester. She has proudly geeky proclivities, a penchant for pop culture and an infectious joy for life’s irregularities, including the odd things she’s noticed since living amongst us Brits. She possesses wonderfully refreshing comic gusto and, amongst other accutely amusing material, anecdotes about cats.

“Delivers strong material with aplomb” — Three Weeks
“More Tina Fey than Katy Brand” — Student Direct “McCabe stormed the venue… a thorough delight to watch” — Arts in Leicester
“Original and quirky material… McCabe’s frank and wacky humour, delivered with confidence and a hint of self-mockery made for a memorable start.” — Leeds Student
