After two sell out collaborative events, Texture Sounds resume regular programming with a huge day and night party for their 11th mainline TEXTURE. During the day, house and electronic guru Laurence Guy will be selecting in the sunny courtyard, as well as UKG legend Jeremy Sylvester and hometown hero Big Ang, all blasting on Sinai Sound System. As always, these big names are joined by a slew of genre-busting local talent.
If you’re a Night Owl, don’t forget to grab an additional ticket to the after party, where you can catch the Texture Sounds residents slamming it all night long in the warehouse until the early hours. Their multi-genre b4b’s have been a staple of their Texture nights so far, so this 5-hour set is surely to be one for the books.
Laurence Guy is an Artist, DJ, Producer, and purveyor of beloved, critically acclaimed house music. Having crafted his own signature of contemporary underground music, Laurence Guy has enjoyed notable commercial success - over 60 million streams and counting. His critically acclaimed debut album; 2017’s 'Saw You For The First Time', was followed a string of acclaimed EPs and solo projects released through various renowned labels such as Ninja Tune, Shall Not Fade, and Late Night Tales. A restless digger with an active pursuit of music both old and new, Laurence has established himself as an admired selector, holding down a residency on London’s storied Rinse FM station while playing globally at some of the world’s most iconic dancefloors including Printworks, London Southbank Centre, Glastonbury, and Lost Village Festival and sold out shows at Fabric. Laurence’s willingness to probe new styles and inspect unfamiliar spaces is part of what has led to him becoming one of the UK’s finest musical exports.
We are also honoured to bring the godfather of garage himself, Jeremy Sylvester, to this special occasion. Arguably heralding one of the best back catalogues in all of dance music, Jeremy has been a true pioneer of the genre for two decades now. Selling over 4 million records over a multitude of aliases (including three UK top 20 singles), we are thrilled to have him providing his unique flavour of old school garage selections to the Southbank Warehouse courtyard.
Last but not least, Big Ang is a name known not unknown to most Sheffielders- revered as the undisputed Queen of Bassline, for two decades the name Big Ang has been synonymous with speedy basslines, rapturous breakdowns and right-in-the-feelings vocal samples. Yorkshire-born DJ and producer, she rose to prominence in the hey-day of Niche - but as a new generation of bassline and speed garage appreciators flood our nightclubs, she has experienced a resurgence on the scene and receiving some much-deserved recognition nationwide. Recent years have seen her make an appearance on NTS' UK Garage Evolutions, become the muse behind the "Big Ang Forever" Donk Wear t-shirt, and 2023 saw her make an appearance on Interplanetary Criminal's UK tour as well as remixes of ‘Better Love’ by Eliza Rose and ‘Make Me’ by Borai & Denham Audio.
