Summit House car park on Eyre Street is set to be transformed into a BBQ’s lovers paradise as Sheffield’s Smo•Fo Smoked Foods launches a brand new, monthly pop-up event, focusing on BBQ, beer and bands.
The Smo•Fo•Pit•Stop (30 March – 1 April), will feature delicious smoked BBQ food, with beers from two of Sheffield’s best-loved breweries and live music from some of the cities best local bands. There are even plans for a spicy food challenge.
The event is the brainchild of Smo•Fo founder Simon Barnes and Atropos Events Niall Gordon. Simon is a trained chef and butcher with more than 10 years of experience in top end meaty goodness, he set up Smo•Fo two years ago and has become renowned in Sheffield for his delicious smoked bar snacks. It is fitting that the idea for his next venture, a three-day event focused on his famous bar snacks, great beer, and live music, came into being in the pub.
Smo•Fo•Pit•Stop will feature a delicious smoked BBQ curated by Simon himself. People can expect delicious smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, homemade mac and cheese, Asian chicken and fresh beef burgers. Simon also intends to offer his signature vegan chilli and other creative vegetarian offerings to appeal to one and all, it’s not all just about the meat!
To bring Smo•Fo•Pit•Stop to life, Simon has teamed up with Sheffield-based events production company Atropos Events, who have recruited a whole host of independent Sheffield businesses to help create the Smo•Fo•Pit•Stop.
The bar will be stocked with draft craft beer, which will complement the BBQ food offering.
