Roller Derby- New Skater Intake on Wednesday 15th January 2020

Ever wondered about playing Roller Derby? Looking for a fun, friendly, inclusive sport (maybe one where you get to bash into like-minded people while wearing roller skates)? If the answer is 'YES!' and you're 18 or over and identify as a woman or non-binary, Sheffield Steel Roller Derby is the place for you!

SSRD is Sheffield's oldest and largest Roller Derby league. We have two teams that compete both nationally and internationally and our skaters and coaches come from a wide variety of sporting (and previously non-sporting) backgrounds.

You don't need masses of experience to start out; our dedicated new skater programme is tailor-made to help teach you all the skills required to make your way in the sport as well as provide an introduction to the tactics and gameplay you'll be putting into play on gameday.

We have kit for hire and are on hand to help you navigate the choppy waters of buying your first setup when the time comes.

Skate Central, our training venue, is conveniently located just 10 minutes walk from Sheffield train station and easily accessible by car or public transport.
