About

Dolph Starbeam Presents... The Alternative Christmas Party!

Two of Liverpool's longest running DIY bands are coming back to Sheffield for the first time in years for an alternative Christmas Party.

Puzzle

This year Liverpool's Puzzle released Halfway Home on Defend Vinyl Records. Produced and recorded by Paul Rafferty (Hot Club De Paris), the record is a collection of catchy emo-tinged indie pop and is full of great storytelling and instrumentation. Returning to Sheffield for the first time since 2011. The venues they have played in the past may not still be here (The Red House, The Stock Room) but Puzzle are still going strong and it's great to have them back.

Down and Outs

Chris, Morgan and Mark are three scousers who've been making punk for nearly two decades. Their debut Boys from the Blackstuff in 2004 was released on former Sheffield record label Dead and Gone records and was a punk classic, but the story didn't stop there, they've release four albums since and their latest single 'It's Not Over Till It's Over' picks up from their 2006 Forever Punk Zinch and shows their still plenty of fist pumping singalongs to come.

Town Cruise

If Mike Kinsella formed a band in Sheffield it wouldn't sound a million miles away from Delicious Clam's Ed and Lew's latest project.

Post Archives

Vicky, Alfie, Kev and Peter make music that's somewhere between powerpop and punk with a collection of songs about fictional karaoke bars, a disdain for Q&As, small talk friendships and late night takeaway spots.
