DC Presents: Ex-Vöid / Big Break / All Girls Arson Club
17/4/25
Well whaddayaknow?! We've got a huge line-up coming to you on Thursday 17th April to kick start the mega-mondo-extendo bank holiday weekend in sweet style. It's the return of some familiar faces:
Ex-Vöid
From that collective of people and bands based primarily/currently out of London, Gob Nation, comes the magnificent Ex-Vöid, with their brand of perfect fuzzy indie-pop, ripping solos, beautiful harmonies and chugging but nuanced rhythm section. Back with a new, critically-acclaimed album, 'In Love Again' ("album of the week 5 stars" says The Guardian, tha knows), they're touring the UK and stopping off at DC to entertain us all in exchange for money, a fair deal I think you'll agree.
Prominent music monthly Mojoreviewed the new album, stating "One of those bracing, snarky, crafted and fun records that reminds you of a bunch of old favourites while simultaneously exerting its own personality", while similarly prominent, nay identical, music monthlyUncutwrote "They take a clear delight in topping their scrappy indie-pop tunes with folk-rock vocal harmonies." They're right!
Big Break
Local sort-of-egg-punk-hardcore outfit make a return after some time resting, raising children, running local DIY spaces and writing/recording some follow up songs to 2023's album Angel's Piss.
All Girls Arson Club
Manchester may have stolen them away but they're more Sheffield than Hawley supping a pint of Hendos painted by Pete Mckee on the side of a cooling tower next to an oyl int road. 2-piece garage rock with masses of charm, humour and catchiness.
