About

The Alternative Christmas Party!

Bean Weevil

Watching Bean Weevil and their brand of Grunge Pop makes you want to start a band. The balance of hooks and harmonies delivered with a punch will have you wanting more. A set that hits you in waves as you take in what each member bring to the band.

Start with their 2022 single Icarus - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCqYN11PIX0

Rivalry

In 2023 the Rivalry released Sometimes You Have To Look Back on Brassneck records. Who are these punk blow ins you may ask? Well their blank Spotify bio doesn't give any clues away but it turns out they've been at it for a while. The Rivalry features Mark Magill of the Down and Outs and Mackie, formerly of Blitz. The band started as a lockdown project but have recently started playing shows to support their release.

As a way in start with their first single Satellite - https://youtu.be/1CGsGUctG3Q?feature=shared

Post Archives

Fighting the curse of melancholy as you try and navigate the day to day is never easy when you live with your head in the clouds. Where better to start unpicking things than with your friends in a practice room. This Sheffield four piece play power pop that gets to the point as quickly as possible. Think Elvis Costello writing songs with The Cars and you won't be far off.

Jeuce

I'm going to put it out there, Jenn Reid, singer of Jeuce is the best punk singer in Sheffield (and maybe the 19th Century) and who comes close to Bruce on drums? Put both of these two powerhouses together and who needs guitars or bassists. No reverb on the vocals please, dry as sandpaper and sharp as a knife.
