Review of SF17 (SPRING-FEST)

Awesome night. All 20 of my group had another great night here.
the staff wasn't letting people queue jump so it was a waste of money and a rip off and the most popular acts was in a small stage (face of steel) there was too many people and people wasn't allowed in that stage because it was too full. The most popular acts should of been priority and should have been on the main stage. People got squished and hurt.

Face of steel was a disgrace.
Overall was good however major flaws. Firstly the Face of steel stage stupidly organised they knew a lot of people was going to go to that stage however made it the smallest one with security constantly turning you away to get in. 3 guards didn't even know where the face of steel was and sent me in the wrong direction, one guard Would tell you to go through different doors than another guard would say. The organisation was poor and was told I could refund my wristband online by a worker but now apparently you can only do it on site... apart from the organsisation it was good just needs major improvements
One of the best nights going
Closed off face of steel for 3/4 of the night wasn't letting anyone in or out. Aggressive people, fights waste of money didn't get to see any the acts we wanted to because of it being closed

Insane night with lads there was only issue I had was that we couldn't get to face of steel as they closed it off reyt early meaning we missed acts that we wanted to see. The acts we did see were ace making it a great night overall. We're definitely going to come again next year.
Drinks were really expensive but everything else was great
Stewards too heavy handed and didn't really care, good venue but queues to some arenas too long and unorganised.
I'be been to spring fest and fear fest both times amazing and worth the money only down fall is getting your money back off your band took 50 minutes we had £25 left on ours so waited and there was only one person refunding them the que was huge so I wouldn't recomment putting a lot on your band for drinks.
The venue was too crowded and 9 out of 10 people were far too drunk or had too many drungs, I did not enjoy the night and the prices for drinks were ridiculous
Amazing venue, good organisation although you couldn't get in to some of the stages as they were "too full".
This was not what I expected. Everyone was extremely young and this for me was reflected in the atmosphere. In a packed out venue it was hard to leave (no signs) which would be worrying if there was a fire. The music was good although Tom Zinatti's 1 song set was a disappointment even if he did claim to be "smashed".
The music was good as always, sometimes you couldn't get to the stage that you wanted to be at. Travelling round wasn't as good as previous events.
I think the way that the arenas were set out was a bit silly, having some of the most popular acts on the smallest stage and not lettting anybody in was a bit stupid. Also we booked a coach tick*t from leeds and it said it was setting off at 6:45 but it set off 5 mins early and me and my 2 friends were just round the corner from it so we weren't late and it set off without us. They should have counted people against how many coach tick*ts they sold and set off when they said they were going to
Everything was so good but if they had to improve anything it would be to have more acts on the main stage because there were quite a few times when the smaller stages were full so we had to go elsewhere and we ended up missing some of our favourite acts.
One of the best nights of my life!
Had a great night last night, bit disappointing that some stages were full as couldn't see everyone I wanted to see, also I think the £2 wrist band charge is a bit much on top of the already expensive drinks, overall though a great venue
All the most popular DJ's were in the smallest stage, so throughout the night Face of Steel kept turning people away. When you were in and it was full, the stage was packed and you couldn't move. Some people missed out on seeing artists they wanted to see because of it.
too many people, could not get into watch acts which we had paid for , very disappointed.
Security ruined the event
Bouncers were horrible, music was good. I didnt get to see the main dj i went for because the bouncers wouldnt let anymore people in which wasnt fair as thats the main reason i bought a tick*t to go and travelled. The night should of been organised a lot better. Still had a sick night though
Was gutted to not be able to get in Face of Steel as it was over capacitated.
Sound system not very good, The Face of Steel closed for half of the night so didn't get to see who I really wanted to see, Top Up Wristbands didn't work as quickly as expected
Highlight of the night was the music, it salvaged what was a shambles of a night. After being charged £35 for tick*ts then not told until arrival that there would be NO cash purchases and all money has to be on wrist bands, which also you couldn't refund any money left on the band after you've left the venue (again not told to us by anyone). We were then greeting with massively overpacked rooms and security staff that had no idea what rooms were where and were incredibly rude when asked any questions, even in some instances shoving and shouted at girls on there own just tryin to find there friends. Upon leaving the event, I went to the bar to get some water and was told it wasn't free and was £2.50 which I was then charged (on my wristband) and then told we have no water left so I could either have an energy drink or just leave with nothing. NEVER AGAIN will I be attending this event with this kind of unorganisation and lack of trained staff.
best night ever. Gets better and better every year!
I've been to previous events at the magna, and i have never experienced the security staff be so rude! I had waited in the que for over half and hour to an hour needing to use the bathroom. I got into the event and the que's for the toilet were horrific!! I walked through to where the face of steel stage was and the toilets were empty however the bouncer would not let me use them! I said i'd been in que for a long time and i was going to wee myself (i have had nothing to drink at this point) and he was pushing me away and told me to go and wee myself! Who even says that! I then walked to the main stage for another bouncer to tell me the same and again telling me i couldnt use the toilet! This resulted in me leaving thhe event just to go to the toilet and my dad having to come and fetch me at 11. I paid £32 for nothing! Very disappointed!!
Terrible organisation all round, plus some really disappointing sets, especially from Tinie Tempah. Not worth the hassle.
Really enjoyed the music at spring fest but unfortunately the only let down was the organisation and the venue. We paid for our tick*ts which were not cheap to be then told that they were not letting people into the face of steel stags. This should have been more planned to accommodate the amount of people. Not happy with the organisation which ruined the night and has put me off going again.

F**king sick mate
The line up was fair for the price paid, however I was disappointed with the main stage headliner.
The venue was poor; no signs explaining the way out of the main stage - one way system should have been better - and outside flooded too easily after the rain.
Drinks prices were very reasonable for a festival, and was good to see plenty of offers.
I would recommend the festival to those who think the line up is good.
However, there was a lack of communication amongst the coach driver and passengers - the driver did not park in the place he specified, and as a result, several people missed the coach back home. This was for the coach to Nottingham, and therefore I am unsure as to other drivers' clarification on where they were parked for other destinations.
I've been going to Fearfest for 3 years now and never had a problem. But this time at Springfest for some reason it went completely tits up. We paid the extra money for queue jump but the organisation was that poor, we still ended up queuing through every single section, the security, the queue for a stamp, and then a queue to go through to the actual event. The stewards just put the normal tick*t holders and the queue jump tick*ts together instead of having the normal 2 different sections for them. Think it was money wasted down the drain for the jump.

The face of steel stage needed sorting, got too busy.
The coach turned up nearly half an hour late, and no one knew where it was picking us up from. Queues when we got there were fine also our queue jump helped. Bigger acts such as Mist, Flava D and Holy Goof should have been in the main stage as there were issues getting into the faces of steel room whereas on NYE there were no issues with any of the rooms being too full. Some of the artists throwing drinks over the audience and empty bottles/cups and smoking on stage but my friend was kicked out for taking a drag of someone else's ciggerette but the girl holding it wasn't kicked out. Then to top it off when we left our coach was nowhere to be found, luckily we walked to the roundabout and asked a police officer if he had seen it. The coach was on the opposite side of the roundabout that we were dropped off too. He said he would pick us up from outside the venue. On the way back there was only half of the amount that were on it the way there so i wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the people got stranded in Sheffield. Very unorganised. Normally love this venue but from the coach being so late and the room being packed I didn't enjoy my night at all.

Amazing but to many people for the size of the venue
Getting better every year
Good vibes 😎
One of the best events I have been too. Perfect venue for the amount of people that was there, was enough room for everyone and everything there. Hopefully there is another event held here at some point. This is my 2nd time returning to this venue and it has succedded my expectations.
Good however far too many tick*ts sold. Either sell less or bigger venue.
Really enjoyed the night! Apart from face of steel was absolutely packed I did get in early as I wanted to see the acts what was on that stage but it wasn't a good atmosphere constantly being pushed about. I also pre paid for my wristband which didn't work to top up so it took 20 'minutes to sort that out which I thought it would of been quicker to pre pay then actually que up and the prices for drinks wasn't 'reasonable' as it said online!! But still enjoyed the night
Good night, although set times were delayed and drinks were far too expensive.
Queue jump tick*ts weren't worth the extra price as we still had to queue.

Such a good night
Amazing night, great atmosphere
Was a really good night and was very impressed just the security guards were far too aggressive hitting people for no reason and shouting in people's faces for not walking when they was told too and pulling people around far too often
Honestly the best night I've had out!!
Sick festival , didn't realise it was all held inside though. Didn't rate the one way system they put in place either made things very confusing. Toilets could have been nicer. Wish Tom Zanetti spoke less during his set. Had the best time, most definitely do it again.
Best thing ever
Face of steel stage was disappointing as I missed everyone I paid to see as we weren't allowed in, and some acts on the main stage were awful. If these had been swapped and bigger bassline DJs were on the main stage more people would've enjoyed it. Other than that the acts I did end up seeing in face of steel stage, Main stage south and red hall arena were really good (thorpey, solardo, skepsis etc)
TERRIBLE, GOT THERE AT 11.59 AND THEY WOULDN'T LET US IN TOTAL WASTE
Event was great but I paid money for a coach which didn't turn up meaning I had to pay £30 for a taxi home.
missed my favourite artists because the stage was full because it was way too small :(

Best night of my life
Got a broken nose from some idiot in crowd, awesome night tho 😂

Was absolutely amazing but would face of steel and main stage north should of been swapped with a couple remaining the same as many people missed out in face of steel due to it reaching capacity, it was clear to see it was the more popular choice on the night which is why it would've made sense to be in the bigger arena
Great place but Solardo should of been on the main stage as he was absolutely insane, he should replace Tom Zanetti
Ashley Darren Ward
Great event with a great atmosphere, good lineup
This was an amazing event, with an amazing atmosphere. Although the drink prices were high, it was well worth the £35 we paid for each tick*t. We hope to come back next year and would highly recommend the event to everyone who enjoys a fun night out.

I was rather disappointed with the set up of this festival.I really don't understand why all the main acts were put on a small stage meaning half way through the night it had to be closed off.I didn't pay £30 to be told I couldn't see the acts I wanted to and the staff at the venue were rather rude when confronted with this issue.I ended up missing most the acts I went there to see if I'd have known that would have been the case I never would have bought tick*ts.
way too busy. didn't get to see the acts i went to see as the face of steel room was constantly too full. payed extra for vip tick*ts and there was no point as we was made to use the same queue as the standard tick*t holders.
Best thing I've ever done
really good night

After going to fear and bassfest, I was really looking forward to spring fest. However it didn't live up to expectations... the venue was either too small or tick*ts were oversold as we could not get into the face of steel which has been practically empty on other occasions. Which meant most of the night was spent in the main stage north as other acts around weren't up to the same standard as face of Steel or main stage. Tinie Tempah a big name to draw people in was woeful, hardly sang but I cannot remember seeing (dj set) next to his name on the flyers. Tom zanetti was late, but once again was actually very decent and always puts on a show. New acts like tough love and corrupt saved the night for me. But I was very disspointed to pay and not to be able to go in a certain area all night meaning we missed Jamie duggan, darkzy etc...
Face of steel was the highlight but all in all really good night
Everybody there was underage. I saw one of the staff members conducting the search pull a large amount of illicit substances from the teenager in front of me and they simply 'confiscated' it into their prock*t and let them go ahead.
Pretty good all in all
Oliver Paul Rafferty
The security abused the power they were given. You cannot call this a festival, the venue was warehouse and the atmosphere was tense. I will never be attending an event at this location again. F**k you.
s**t to many people pushing and shuving was abit of a shambles and the parking was a joke...
Rooms often over-capacity which was disappointing when you missed favourite acts. Security would barge and push you with no warning or apology for no particular reason.
