Transmission: The Sound of Joy Division + Pssyche (Killing Joke on Saturday 20th April 2019
Devoted to recreating the atmosphere of a live JOY DIVISION gig, Transmissionemulate the sound of one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era.
Joy Division was formed in the late 1970s and dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. The remaining members went on to form New Order and have achieved much critical and commercial success.
The influence of Joy Division, however, was far reaching. They are considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
More than 30 years on you can still relive the dark cavernous sound of Joy Division through Transmission: the U.K's number one Joy Division tribute act.
Plus special guests PSSYCHE
The UK’s only established live tribute to influential post-punk/industrial rock legends KILLING JOKE.
Playing shows since 2012 (and formerly known as Absolute Dissent), Pssyche's’s line-up of lifelong Killing Joke devotees is passionate about delivering the intense live experience of a band who once described their apocalyptic output as “the sound of the earth vomiting.”
Every gig is a celebration for seasoned “Gatherers” and new fans alike, spanning all eras of the Joke’s incredible near-40 year career. Pssyche’s live sets mirror those of KJ - songs from the highly regarded recent albums feature alongside older classics like 'Requiem & Wardance' and hits 'Love Like Blood' & 'Eighties'.
A killer double-bill recreating the legendary 1980 joint Joy Division / Killling Joke tour!
