Acid Brass afterparty with DJ Dave Haslam (Hacienda) on Friday 28th April 2017

DJ and writer Dave Haslam made his DJing debut at the Hacienda in 1986. Ian Brown, Tim Burgess, and the Chemical Brothers were regular visitors to Haslam’s ground-breaking DJing events at the Hacienda, and all have credited Haslam as an inspiration. He played over 450 times at the legendary club, including on the last night the Hacienda was open; June 28th 1997. In 1989 and 1990 he toured with the Stone Roses and played at most of their biggest UK shows in those years, including at Spike Island.
He has since DJ'd worldwide, including Paris, Detroit, Berlin, Ibiza, New York, Hamburg, Lima, Geneva, Cleveland and afterparties for New Order, Depeche Mode and Gorillaz (where Damon Albarn, Neneh Cherry, and De La Soul all took to the dancefloor). His recent DJ highlights include a short tour of Italy, and a party for the designer Paul Smith during Paris Fashion Week.
He describes his DJing philosophy as “playing the best records ever made one after the other”.
His set at The Continental will span all eras, and be a joyous aftershow event complementing the 'Acid Brass' performance on Market Sq the same night.
Plus guests: Fenny and Lez (On The Wire)
Opening up the evening will be Fenny and Lez from the jewel in BBC Radio Lancashire's crown, Steve Barker's 'On The Wire' show, one of the longest running underground music shows on British radion, starting in 1984.
Regular patrons of Tuff Life Boogie nights at The Continental will recognise them as the house DJs from our 'Un-Peeled' all-dayers. Fenny and Lez will be playing their usual mix of reggae, dub, 50's/60's/70's rock 'n' roll and soul and the odd random Half Man Half Biscuit tune.
Tickets for Dave Haslam at the Acid Brass Aftershow at The Continental are £6. Doors open from 8pm - running until midnight.

Music Genres:
