Skiddle Christmas Party @ NuGroove on Thu 6th December 2012
Ho Ho Ho! Christmas is just around the corner which means things get pretty busy in the Skiddle.com office, making sure we have all the best Christmas and New Year's Eve events on sale.
It is known however, that the staff at Skiddle like a party ourselves, so to say a big thank you for your support over 2012, we're throwing a FREE party with our friends at NuGroove and Unity FM.
Naturally it wouldn't be a party without some friends of our own, and what better a person to invite to play some records than Sonny Wharton. A long time friend of Skiddle, he was recently descibed as Fatboy Slim's producer of the year.
I am loving everything Sonny does right now. My producer of the year - Fatboy Slim
With the event been broadcast live across Greater Manchester on 92.8fm and across the world via www.skiddle.com it made sense to invite Mistress De Funk to the turntables.
After living in Ibiza for 2 years in 2005 and 2006, Mistress returned to England to a Sankeys residency and a slot on the highly coveted BBC Radio Ones In New Djs We Trust show. This was a show Mistress ran for a year, and spent the next 6 years touring the world, and making music.
Starting up her own record label Peep Show Records added to her box of tricks. Slowing down with touring has seen a return to radio for Mistress who brings her highly eclectic musical knowledge to Unitys daytime schedule.
Alongside Mistress is another female DJ that we rate as one of the best in the country. Ginny Koppenhol won the Skiddle.com Resident of The Year Competition in 2010 and we've not looked back since! Ginny loves to DJ because "I love house music, and I love to share the music I love with as many people as possible! Simple as that."
At the Wickerman Festival 2012 Ginny showed us what she was truly made of, bringing the Skiddle.com crowd to a new dimension whilst waiting for Steve Lawler to show. The tent was bouncing, the crowd were chanting and Ginny owned proceedings. It's just a pity we let SL on the decks at all, but that's another story!
With Beats of Rage and NuGroove residents The Filth Wizard and No Future finishing the evening off, it's guarenteed to be a sell out party not to be missed!
Music Genres: Disco, Electro, House
