South Downs Autumn Foraging Course on Sunday 28th October 2018

The Queen Elizabeth Country Park is situated just north of Waterlooville, and easily reachable from Portsmouth, Winchester, Chichester and Guildford.

This impressive 1,400 acre Country Park sits in the midst of the South Downs and includes a mixture of open grassland, dramatic downland and vast woodlands.

We will meet outside the Queen Elizabeth Country Park visitor centre at 12pm. The course starts with a 20 minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.

Then we’ll set off for a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the area identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we come across. We then discuss and taste our finds over a light lunch.

Ideal for both the total novice and the intermediate forager looking to improve their knowledge, it is also an unusual and fun family outing!
