The countdown has begun to the 2021 Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final. Dubbed ‘Shinty’s Big Day Out’, the final of national sport’s premier cup competition - the 2021 final is set to be the biggest staging of the event in its 125-year history with live traditional music, entertainment and a dedicated Kids Zone adding to the festival feel.
First contested in 1896, the final of shinty’s national knock-out cup competition promises to be a brilliant day out for all the family and also an opportunity to watch two of the country’s elite shinty teams.
The Camanachd Cup Final attracts thousands of spectators on the day and is also broadcast live by BBC Scotland across television, radio and online platforms. The 2021 final will be held at The Dell, Kingussie on Saturday 18th September - promises to be a day to remember.
Gates open at 10am and spectators can enjoy live music and entertainment from leading pipe bands, Highland dancers and Feis musicians. Younger spectators can head straight to the Kids Zone for a range of free activities.
At 11am the rising stars of shinty will contest the MacMaster Cup U14 final before the throw-up for the main event at 2.15pm.
The Camanachd Cup is also a highlight of the Scottish social calendar and spectators can enjoy some of the finest Highland hospitality in the various bars and food outlets situated throughout the Dell venue.
As if you needed any more reason to attend Shinty’s Big Day Out 2021, kids under 12 go free (when accompanied by a paying adult). There are also Early Bird discounts for those buying tickets with us before August 31st 2021.
