Blenheim Palace Autumn Foraging Course on Saturday 3rd November 2018
This course is a simple foraging walk where we will identify a number of edible and poisonous wild mushrooms, fruits and plants.
We’re excited to be running our first Autumn courses in the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace this year. This stunning 18th Century baroque palace is within easy reach of Oxford, Banbury, Burford, Aylesbury and even Newbury. We expect to find plenty of foraging treats from all the well established flora here.
The course starts at 12pm with a 20 minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
Then we’ll set off for a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the area identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we come across. We then go back to the Star to discuss and taste our finds over a light lunch.
Ideal for both the total novice and the intermediate forager looking to improve their knowledge, it is also an unusual family outing!
