Logan & Manley
Hailing from the creative northern town of Hebden Bridge, Logan & Manley are full of irie beats, soulful vibes and lyrics that have a message for us all. Live, they loop a sonic landscape of dynamic vocals, keys, guitars and electric drums creating a space for everyone to get lost in the magic of their music. Expect to feel the love from the tips of your toes to the top of your head.
They have had a great 2019 so far, releasing a superb new EP ‘Orpheus Vibrations’ in March, landing with a sold-out hometown show, a support slot with the legendary Lee Scratch Perry and the honour of opening the main stage at Beatherder.
'Original, celebratory and soulful. Logan & Manley are an extraordinary new talent and an honour to work with - John Garden, Scissor Sisters
“Vocally it’s like Chaka Khan and Sam Cooke had a beautiful soulful love child, and I feel if we all started our mornings listening to a song by L&M the world would be a better and brighter place!' - Salena Godden
Kermit & The Super Weird System
Kermit And The Super Weird System is the latest offering from the ever-evolving Moss Side artist. Channelling the likes of Big Youth, Dillinger and U-Roy, Kermit Leveridge’s new project sees him assume the role of a JA deejay, toasting over the booty-shaking, dubwise good times spun by Super Weird selector, Josh Ray.
From an original British b-boy to a Ruthless Rap Assassin, Kermit has constantly shape-shifted his way to the front of the vanguard of music. Having been the first dancer photographed spinning on his head in the UK during his Broken Glass days, his rhymes were later hailed by the Roots Manuva as the ‘the roots of grime’ and as a founding half of Black Grape, alongside Shaun Ryder, Kermit climbed to the top of the UK charts, securing his name in the annals of music history.
After touring the world to critical acclaim and crossing the near-fatal abyss of heroin addiction, Kermit returned as a poet with lyrical wit that’s as distinct and impressive as ever. Reigniting a long-standing creative partnership with DJ Greg Wilson in 2014, his return to music inspired the formation of the multi-media Super Weird Substance label, and an extended family of singers, musicians and DJs has grown out of it since.
With an output including 2 life-affirming mixtapes and 9 balearicpsychedelicdubdisco vinyl EPs, the label has established a name for itself in the counterculture, furthered by a string of live events including 7 memorable sixties-styled Super Weird Happenings. Providing a pop-up party wherever they go, Super Weird Substance has established a reputation for versatility; as comfortable hosting intimate fire-side sessions as they are rocking a full house on main stages.
This latest manifestation sees Kermit join forces with Josh Ray, who’s established a solid reputation for reggae locally in Liverpool, at festivals like Positive Vibration and Africa Oyé, whilst DJing further afield in places like Amsterdam and Addis Ababa. Debuted to an incredibly warm and increasingly wild response at Sheffield’s Catch 23, Kermit And The Super Weird System are primed to rock festival audiences across the UK with their new slant on a sound system.
Firehouse Rockers DJ Collective - Che Wilson & Josh Ray

Acid Ketchup Residents Takeover

The Facemaker Exhibition
Wilf Dessent (aka The Face Maker) is an illustrator and creator based in Leeds. He works in a range of media from spray paint to screen prints. He has been commissioned by pubs, clubs, festivals and brands to create original, striking designs with high impact. He will be showcasing his original artwork upstairs including the Orpheus Vibrations journey to create the Logan & Manley EP cover!
A fresh voice hailing from the North, Jozef has taken his influences from indie, folk and hip-hop. These three genres have politely asked for them to be returned on several occasions, but as yet, no response has been forthcoming. With lyrics that veer from romantic idealism to bizarre juxtaposition, delivered via catchy-as-owt melodies and an effortlessly alluring vocal style, Jozef is as beguiling/surprising as a razor blade in a Jaffa Cake.
We bring you an unmissable performance of the Logan & Manley Track 'Heal' by local choir sensations. It's a hairs standing on end moment; we can't wait to share it with you.
