Review of Look-A-Like Festival: Outdoor Tribute Festival! - Nottingham
Where do I start?
Pre festival communication non existent, Friday before the weekend of event a 'statement of play' was issued with pretty much no more information that people had been able to gain from rumours and the odd response to a comment on facebook. At this late stage to be confirmed very little parking, no food etc... is far too late. This could and should be information all up front. Most comments and questions on the event on facebook went unanswered - which built the anxiety and many decided they wouldn't take the risk and questioned if it was even a real event.
Fleetwood Mac tribute not available - again last minute announcement. Line up only given on day of festival!
Parking - surprisingly well managed temp traffic lights and drop off area. But not enough for the aimed size of the event and not acceptable to say 'park in Arnold' 4 miles away with no public transport.
Event was held in a field far too small, entry allowed until 4pm. Field was already overfilled by 2pm when we arrived. There was a very loud disco area next to the field, which meant you could hear two sets of music playing at any one time. Virtually noone in that area.
Drinks - no queues, incredibly expensive. To be expected I guess. But have more choice, very poor quality and choice for the extortionate prices. Obviously had a quick run to cash and carry the week before.
Food - felt sorry for the one provider who had been booked. Nowhere near enough for an event that size. They were trying their best, but as the only stall on site and no food allowed in, it was a disaster waiting to happen. Queued for over an hour for an overpriced plain burger (no extras left) and cheesy chips. This wasn't quite what I'd call street food and if that's what's advertised would expect better. Especially when comparing to the Southport event - which looked like it had multiple providers and good quality food. I only know that because when you click on the website there is NOTHING about Nottingham, still had the Southport festival info only on there. Again worrying.
Had facebook competition for VIP tickets and bar bill - as far as I know no-one won, everyone contacted told they were runners up. Hmmmmm.
Music was good - tribute bands are fun. You'd think you can't go wrong. They did.
Skiddle - take note, this is associated with you as the ticket vendor.

The car park was full so we got turned away despite having arrived early. There was nowhere nearby to park either. All well and good, but were NOT informed this could be an issue when purchasing the tickets or we wouldn't have bothered.
My 3 stars for the music therefore was based on comments left on Facebook by people who did manage to gain entry, because this form won't submit unless I put something.

Whilst the acts that were on were good, the two acts I booked the tickets for were a no show! We were also turned away due to lack of parking and had to pay a FORTUNE for taxis. Not happy! Add to that the fact that it took 75 minutes to buy a burger and it was overall a very disappointing experience. I won't use these people again. What a waste of a lot of money.

Poorly organised with one and a half hours queuing for food .massive queues for toilets and limited parking. Not very good considering the venue is not directly on a bus route and we could not take food in
