direct. presents: KETTAMA (EXTENDED SET) on Monday 22nd October 2018
direct. bring Kettama to Nottingham for their launch party performing an extended set in one of the finest intimate spaces around, Bar Eleven.
KETTAMA is legitimately one of the world’s most exciting electronic music talents through the success of his straightforward brand of club orientated house music that is purpose built to make people dance. Having initially kicked off his career as a DJ with a weekly residency as one half of the VSN collective in Galway, his sound quickly took the heavy kickdrums of the techno he was playing out each weekend and re-contextualised them with the more pleasant moods of house music, through clever piano and hip hop samples among other things. His popularity initially ballooned his name as far as China, where he recently played a three date tour, as well as shows in Bristol, Vancouver and San Francisco. With such a strong international following already under his belt it comes as no surprise that the Galway native is one of the most common names across the Irish festival circuit, having played to some of the most jaw dropping crowds at both Life festival and Higher Vision this summer, with Electric Picnic still to follow. His most recent release on New York label Hommage, the ‘Bucklyn Bridge’ EP not only pays tribute to his native county’s love for cult-favoured drink Buckfast, but is home to one of the most anticipated house tracks of the year, ‘BODY’ which has been heavily supported by Mall Grab and recently premiered by Mixmag.
Support comes from Azbo b2b founder of direct. Nathan Woods
