Large Plants + Fountain + The Gonzo Experimental Band on Saturday 25th February 2023
SBD presents
LARGE PLANTS
Saturday February 25th
Large Plants is the new project from Jack Sharp, singer guitarist from psych-folk luminaries Wolf People.
Suddenly without a band and faced with the enforced lockdown of Summer 2020, Jack set up in a friends’ old barn in Bedfordshire and created a tonne of scuzzy, loner, biker-rock. The sound of Large Plants is a shaking invocation of post civilisation dread. An end of the world doom-folk party imbued with the rich vein of bucolic sorrow that Sharp’s vocal never fails to convey.
Their first single was described as 'A fine slice of haunted (and hauntological) folk-rock' by Uncut, who chose the track for their June cover CD, and the album picked up a 5 star review from Shindig Magazine. And their unexpected psychedelic cover of Madonna's La Isla Bonita is something you never knew you needed to hear, but you do.
