About

Blue Amber -

After graduating from the seaside university of Aberystwyth, Drew Noel decided to go on a road trip across the USA. Following in the footsteps of his Beat Generation heroes, Drew set out on a journey that would take him from the bright lights of New York City, through the heartlands of America, finishing up with an excursion down the West Coast highways. The trip, soundtracked by the jazz greats, instrumental hip hop pioneers and lo-fi cult bands such as The Microphones, inspired Drew to create his own new ‘Beat Generation’. On his return home, armed with dozens of filled notebooks and completed rolls of film, Blue Amber was born.

Initially a solo project based out of Drew’s bedroom in his family home, Blue Amber quickly grew into a rotating ensemble of like-minded friends and musicians from all around the UK based in Cardiff. The band pull together a wide range of influences from instrumental hip hop to post-punk, Beat poetry to indie folk, to create sonically diverse musical offerings that capture the experiences of 20-somethings in a post-Brexit Britain.

Dusty Cut -

Dusty Cut is the Cardiff-based music project of award-winning writer Phil Jones. Together with Thomas Hollick, Simon Dowling, Evie Davies and Tim Swan, Dusty Cut craft songs about friendships and loves gained and lost, fights in restaurants, Scottish islands and the sea.

Dusty Cut have developed a warm sound that incorporates moody folk, 70s rock and a hint of strangeness inspired by eccentrics like Gruff Rhys, Arthur Russell and Big Thief.

Ivor Woods -

Ivor Woods (aka Rachel) is a multi-instrumentalist queer artist hailing from South Wales, creating alt-pop from her home studio. After dabbling in a number of bands, she decided to learn how to produce her own music and started creating a sound that reflected herself as a queer woman. What came out was electronic Alt-pop mixed with guitars, creating a atmospheric dark sound. Her biggest inspirations are Art School Girlfriend, Bon Ivor, The Japanese House, Warpaint, Little Dragon & James Blake.
