Lloyd Griffith

Lloyd Griffith is a comedian with serious stand-up comedy chops. He's been making audiences roar with laughter since 2009, and has become one of the most in-demand comics on the UK circuit.

With a sharp wit and a gift for storytelling, Lloyd's live shows are a tour-de-force of hilarity. His most recent show, All Rounder, sold out across the UK and garnered critical acclaim, with audiences and critics alike falling in love with his high-energy delivery and clever observations.

Lloyd is a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has been named one of the top shows to see by numerous publications. He's also made appearances on television, including on shows such as Soccer AM (Sky), but it's on the stage where he really shines.

If you want to experience the full force of Lloyd's comedic talent, catch him live on stage. He'll have you in stitches from the first joke to the last punchline.

Lou Sanders

Lou Sanders is one of Britain’s most original comedians. She is the champion of series eight of Taskmaster (Dave), co-hosts Mel Giedroyc’s Unforgivable (Dave) and other recent television appearances include The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS), Live at the Apollo (BBC), QI (BBC2), Travel Man: 48 Hours in… (Channel 4), Would I Lie to You? (BBC1), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC), Hypothetical (Dave), Aisling Bea’s sitcom This Way Up (C4), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky 1), Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier (Dave), Karl Pilkington’s sitcom Sick of It (Sky One), and frequently co-hosts live radio shows filling in for John Robins, Elis James and Ed Gamble.

Lou’s 2018 stand-up show Shame Pig received rave reviews, added extra shows at both the Edinburgh Fringe and sold out three separate runs at London’s Soho Theatre. The show subsequently toured and was named a top show to see by publications including The Guardian, The Scotsman, The List, The Mirror and The Evening Standard. Lou returned to Edinburgh with Say Hello To Your New Step-Mummy which again was critically acclaimed, completely sold out, and went on to become Lou’s largest tour to date. She has also taken the show to LA and New York and has recently finished touring her new show One Word: Wow.

Connor Burns

Connor Burns is one of the most exciting emerging acts on the Scottish comedy circuit in recent years.

His meteoric rise through the comedy ranks since his first-ever open spot in October of 2017 has already seen him nominated for the Scottish Comedy Awards Best Newcomer gong in both 2019 and 2020 as well as being a finalist in the 2020 Amused Moose new act competition, just before the global pandemic closed down live performance.

Gavin Webster

An award winning and legendary comedian from the North East of England. Famed and respected by his peers for his uncompromising and unusual approach and distinctly original routines, he now boasts a large cult following round the country.

Gavin has also supported some of the biggest household names on tour including Kevin Bridges, Alexi Sayle, Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phill Jupitus. In 2014, he was named UK Circuit Comedian of the Year, as voted for by fellow professional comedians online.

His television work includes Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), The Stand-up Show (BBC1), Does Doug Know (Channel 4), Take The Mike (ITV), The Regionnaires (Tyne Tees), The Eleven O Clock show (Channel 4), The Comedy Store, Comedy Blue (Comedy Central) and The World Stand Up Tour (Channel 9 Australia, Comedy Central USA).

In 2016 Gavin made his big screen debut in Ken Loach’s multi-award winning film I, Daniel Blake.

Lauren Pattison

Edinburgh Best Newcomer Nominee 2017, Lauren is a comedian, actor and writer. Her TV appearances include Stand up for Live Comedy (BBC1, )two episodes of Comedy Central at the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), hosting an episode of Takeshi’s Castle (Comedy Central), The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), The Great Christmas Rant (ITV2), The Blame Game (BBC One Northern Ireland) and internationally on New Zealand’s 7 Days (TV3), Australia’s Comedy Up Late (ABC) and Canada’s The Stand Up Show with Katherine Ryan (The Comedy Network Canada). As an actor her credits include Drunk History (Comedy Central), Jerk (BBC3) and Climaxed (BBC3).

​Bursting out of the North East and onto the international circuit, Lauren has performed at numerous national and international festivals. In 2018, she was the only UK rising star invited to Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, performing on the Brit(ish) lineup. Along with Montreal, she has performed at Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, New Zealand and Kilkenny International Comedy Festivals, and in Autumn 2017 she toured India for two weeks with Soho Theatre, playing in Bangalore, Goa and Mumbai.

​A sought after act, Lauren is a regular at all the major national comedy clubs and has provided tour support for Katherine Ryan, Jason Manford, Kerry Godliman, Stewart Francis and Dane Baptiste, as well as gracing the comedy stages of Latitude and Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Joe Heenan is a stand up comedian, writer and MC. Joe's twitter account is a treasure trove of laughs and topical takedowns and one we highly recommend you follow!

Joe has appeared on Breaking the News (BBC Radio Scotland) and 4 Extra Stands Up (BBC Radio 4 Extra). He has written for Chewing the Fat (BBC1 Scotland), The Karen Dunbar Show (BBC1 Scotland) and Live Floor Show (BBC1 Scotland/BBC2).

Grate Newcastle will be serving a selection of their delicious cheeses. If you don't fancy cheese + wine + comedy in a beautiful Cathedral then we can't help you sorry.

Fab Bakery will be there selling some amazing sweet and savoury baked goods! We will also have a nicely stocked bar with a selection of beers, ciders, soft drinks and non alcoholic options plus some lovely organic wine by Defy Wines!

Bigfatdonutco are back! We love their donuts and so do you because they've sold out every time they've come to the Cathedral of Comedy nights. ENJOY!!

Doors Open 7pm - Show Starts 8pm (times approx) - Intervals Provided for refreshments.

Strictly 18+ - We operate a challenge 25 policy on the door and at the bar - Only government issued photo ID will be accepted.

All Seating is unreserved and allocated on a first come first served basis. Get there early for the best views! The venue is fully accessible.
